This adventure provided the ultimate daydream for a young artist whose imagination yearned to \"follow the \u003ci\u003eYellow Brick Road\u003c\/i\u003e\".\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e  In the first Oz painting we see \u003ci\u003eDorothy\u003c\/i\u003e and friends as they view the fabled \u003ci\u003eEmerald City\u003c\/i\u003e for the first time. The familiar cast of characters is here - \u003ci\u003eDorothy, Cowardly Lion, Tin Man, Scarecro\u003c\/i\u003ew -- as well as the \u003ci\u003eWicked Witch of the West\u003c\/i\u003e, scary \u003ci\u003eWinged Monkeys\u003c\/i\u003e, and of course the \u003ci\u003eMunchkins\u003c\/i\u003e. We can even see \u003ci\u003eGlinda the Good Witch\u003c\/i\u003e floating in her transparent sphere of light, as though to bless the journey of the travelers. \u003cb\u003e\u003ci\u003eDorothy\u003c\/i\u003e Discovers the \u003ci\u003eEmerald City\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e is a panorama of the great places from the film. Though while watching the movie none of us can be entirely sure where the Wicked Witch's Castle is located in relation to the \u003ci\u003eEmerald City\u003c\/i\u003e, I have placed it distinctly in the foreground suggesting a barren land that must be traversed to encounter the delights beyond.
